Programs & Services

KCC has evolved into a comprehensive Medical Outreach organization, serving our neighbors through education, referrals, and community programming.

How We Serve Our Community

Medical Outreach Program

KCC's Medical Outreach Program encompasses educational and community programs, in addition to referrals to medical services and specialty care. While KCC no longer sees patients directly in clinic, we are here to help you navigate the healthcare system and connect with the right providers.

Community Wellness Education

Health education programs focused on: diabetes awareness, obesity and healthy weight management, COVID-19 and infectious disease prevention, general health literacy, and preventive care and early detection.

Healthcare Scholarship Program

Each year KCC awards scholarships to Newtown High School seniors pursuing healthcare careers. In 2024, KCC awarded $13,500 to four NHS seniors — honoring Kevin's memory while investing in the next generation.

Kevin's Coffee Corner

Kevin's Coffee Corner

Kevin's Coffee Corner is a unique, community-centered café staffed by special needs young adults — providing real-world vocational training, meaningful employment, and a warm gathering place for the Newtown community. More than a cup of coffee, it is a vocational training ground that creates opportunity, fosters inclusion, and builds independence for young adults with developmental disabilities who are too often left behind after high school.

Sponsored by Kevin's Community Center 501(c)(3), Kevin's Coffee Corner serves gourmet coffee and fresh-baked goods while equipping participants with job skills, self-confidence, and a path toward independent community-based employment. With 80% of adults with developmental disabilities unemployed, this initiative directly addresses a critical gap in our community.

Fairfield Hills Music Festival

The Fairfield Hills Music Festival is KCC's signature annual fundraising event — a full day of live music, food trucks, and a beer garden held on the beautiful Fairfield Hills Campus in Newtown, CT. The festival runs from Noon to 9:30 PM and features performances across two stages, bringing together the community for a day of music, joy, and meaningful support for KCC's mission.

All proceeds benefit Kevin's Community Center and its programs serving uninsured and underinsured residents of the greater Newtown area. The next festival is scheduled for Saturday, May 16, 2026. Sponsorship opportunities are available at Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Friends of KCC levels.
